The Making of Betty

Posted on April 19 2012

Lights, camera, action!  Sounds easy enough, but the first photo shoot for Betty Good Boutique was a labour of love where a special crew shared their talent to make it a huge success!

On the day of the photo shoot models Natasha, Patty & Laura-Beth met up with freelance make up artist & spa owner Urooj Raza (to book Urooj: 778-866-2157).  Natasha's colourful, shimmering smokey eye is achieved in the same way a traditional smokey eye is accomplished, but instead of darker shades, Urooj uses a variety of colourful bronze and apricot tones. Sweet Laura-Beth becomes a little dangerous with a traditional grey and black smokey eye. Patty's lids are downplayed with soft shadow while her liner brings all the drama.

Naomi Jill Horton tousled the tresses to perfection.  She gives blunted end curls to Natasha for a sweet, yet sultry style. Later Naomi creates a bad-girl ballerina look with a messy, twisted side up-do when Natasha slips into Eva's Grown Up Tutu and Courtney Loves Her Pink Moto. Naomi plays up Patty's classic, 40's era look with smooth, large curls that build volume at the ends.

Freelance Photographer & Videographer Mike McCullough achieves natural, balanced lighting to reflect the true colours and textures of the clothing while Wardrobe Stylist Amba Schenk ties it all together with jewelry, belts and other accessories!

Thank you to our special team.  The outcome is more than we could have ever imagined.

Hugs and kisses, Betty!
